Venues
The ceremony and drinks reception is taking place in the Chapel in Savièse, Elodie's native village. It's a 15/20 min drive from Woodland Village.
A bus will be organised to take guests that are staying at Woodland Village to the ceremony/drinks location, and then back to Woodland Village where the wedding breakfast and party is located.

Woodland Village is an amazing alpine resort with onsite accommodation, consisting of modern chalets and a beautiful restaurant area with views of the Alps. And we have the whole resort to ourselves!
​
​
Woodland Village brings a touch of modern to a traditional Swiss mountain village with its new wooden chalets located a few minutes from the all-seasons ski resort of Anzère in the Swiss Alps.
​

We've secured preferential rates and pre booked all of the Chalets for our guests - for the night of Friday 21st July and Saturday 22nd July. We've also secured a few chalets for the shoulder dates on either side of the core dates.
​
Please do not try to book direct with the resort, as the preferential rates are only applicable through us. The RSVP form will capture all your requirements for accommodation.
​
Rates and bookings are per chalet, not per individual room. But do not worry, when you RSVP, you can reserve your room(s) with the names of other people in your chalet.
​
Where appropriate we will allocate you with other guests in order to fill the chalets. We will do our very best to pair you with guests you know and will make sure to chat to you prior confirming it.
​

Travel
The Closest Airport is Geneva Airport (GVA)
When looking for flights:
Outbound: We would strongly recommend booking a flight as early as possible on the Friday. In our experience, the last couple of flights on a Friday night can be delayed and you will miss the last train out of Geneva. We have been stuck a few times at Geneva Airport at midnight on Friday and had to be rescued by Elodie's Parents!
Return: In Switzerland, the party goes on until the early hours (around 4am), so do not book too early a flight on the Sunday!
There is also a brunch on Sunday morning for anyone staying on site.
Travelling in Switzerland:
The Woodland Village is around 2 hour train from Geneva Airport or 1.5hr drive.
The easiest is to fly to Geneva, get a train to Sion, the closest city to the Woodland Village.
The train station in Sion is around 20 minutes drive up the mountain to Woodland Village.
Switzerland has one train company, SBB (https://www.sbb.ch/en).
Train ticket prices do not fluctuate and are valid any time of the day you book for. You can buy greatly discounted tickets, called "Super Savers", via the website or the app if you book in advance and commit to a specific train. These will only be available from a month before you travel until they run out.
The Swiss trains also offer 3 day + packages if you are planning on travelling around, which is very good value (for Switzerland).

Once in Sion:
There are regular buses from the Sion train station to the Woodland Village. The bus number is 351 and the stop for Woodland Village is Fortunau, Les Flans.

You can book the bus ticket on the SBB App.
There are local taxis in the area but they are very expensive as they are hardly used.
Woodland Village also offer transfers from the Airport or the station.

Another option is to hire a car in Sion or Geneva airport.
Children
We love your children and are extremely happy that so many of our friends recently became or are about to become parents.
Unfortunately, as much as we’d love to invite them all to our wedding, due to space limitations we can only accommodate a few close family children. We hope that you will understand this difficult decision and that you will still be able to join us on our special day.
If you do need to travel with your baby and have no other options please let us know and we will do our best to assist. We can help ​with making arrangements for child care - we have local contacts with reputable and affordable nanny services.
